Christmas/New Year break – Our last day is Tuesday 17th December 2024, and we will reopen again on Monday January 6th 2025

—————————————————

ITShare SA Inc. refurbishes discarded or donated computer parts and peripherals. Our team of volunteers accept donations of computers from businesses, institutions and individuals.

The hard drives are wiped using Darik’s Boot and Nuke (DBAN) for reuse. SSDs are securely wiped. Then we process them to make accessible, unencumbered open source systems, with the Linux Mint operating system. Where it is not possible to reuse the hard drive (such as being too small or faulty) we physically destroy the platters of the drive.

For a minimal fee these computers are made available to low income groups, individuals and communities. Desktop computer systems are available for $40 for an Intel Core i5 6th generation, with 8GB RAM, 250GB hard disk, 21 inch standard monitor, keyboard and mouse. (updated 08/05/2024)

We also have laptops, although very low in numbers. If interested please ring first.

Also through joint projects with other agencies, we have been able to send systems to overseas communities in need with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.

ITShare is open 9am to 3pm Mondays and Tuesdays except for Public Holidays.
